The Young Jazz Masters (YJM) is a tuition free early jazz preparatory program aimed at serving youth who desire to further their music education and research in the fundamentals of jazz studies.
Our mission is to promote a culturally diverse learning environment, in which youth can demonstrate their musical abilities through the study and performance of jazz music.

Our home location and rehearsal site is at the Mutual Musicians Foundation located at 1823 Highland, Kansas City, MO 64108 in the historic jazz district. Rehearsals are held Saturday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

Osmond Fisher is originally from Cleveland, Ohio where his experiences in music began at an early age. He is an accomplished Jazz Trombonist in which his influences include J.J. Johnson, Slide Hampton, Frank Rosilino, and Jack Teagarden. Mr. Fisher has over fourteen years experience teaching and rebuilding successful high school band programs. Mr. Fisher has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He is currently completing a Masters of Arts Degree in Music Education at the University of Central Missouri.
Mr. Fishers band programs have received numerous awards for outstanding musicianship and performances. He was recently acknowledged by MENC as one of Kansas Citys dedicated teachers in the Kansas City Municipal School District. Mr. Fisher is looking forward to collaborating with the Mutual Musicians Foundation to help pass the legacy of great musicianship to the students of Kansas City. Founder, Director
CharCarol Fisher is a Board Certified Music Therapist and educator. She received a Bachelor of Music degree with emphasis in saxophone performance from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Additionally, she received her Master of Arts in Music degree from The University of Missouri - Kansas City. She is a native of Cleveland Ohio, and learned about the exciting field of music therapy in high school while deciding to combine her love of science and music as a career choice.
CharCarol will assist in facilitating workshops with YJM students. She serves as the education coordinator and administrator of YJM. Mrs. Fisher recently launched her private contracting business Therapeutic Sounds, dedicated to serving clients in the Metropolitan Kansas City Area.
